Professional Services
Advisory.
Strategic art acquisition, disposition, and collection management guided by technical expertise and market intelligence.

The Practice
Since 1970, Rosenfeld Gallery has helped clients acquire, sell, and live with significant works of Modern and Contemporary art.
We advise three kinds of client: private collectors; the companies and institutions that build art into their spaces; and the attorneys, family offices, and advisors who engage us on a client’s behalf. We work from inside the secondary market, with the discretion that has defined the gallery since 1970.
We work by appointment, from a first acquisition through to the management of an established holding.

Three Ways We Work
For individuals and families
Private Advisory
Independent, discreet counsel for collectors, families, and estates — on what to buy, when to sell, how to build a collection that holds its meaning and its value over time. As a secondary-market dealership first, we advise from inside the market: we know what works are quietly available, what they should cost, and who the right buyer or seller is.
- Acquisitions sourcing specific works and artists through our private network including secondary-market and off-market opportunities
- Private sales and discreet deaccessioning to protect price and privacy outside of public auction
- Collection strategy shaping a coherent holding around taste, goals, and budget with a focus on quality and significance
- Market analysis providing evidence-based assessments of where a work sits in the market, grounded in provenance and condition
- Due diligence including provenance research, condition review, and authentication guidance before commitment
- Collection care advisement on conservation, restoration, framing, installation, shipping, and storage
- Estate and legacy planning to place, gift, or transition a collection across generations
For companies and institutions
Corporate Advisory
For companies, developers, and institutions, art shapes how a space feels and what a brand signals. Rosenfeld Gallery advises organizations on building and managing art programs worthy of the environments they occupy — bringing the same connoisseurship we apply to private collections, so the result is a considered collection that sustains value.
- Collection strategy and curation — aligned to brand, architecture, audience, and budget, from statement works to entire buildings
- Acquisition and procurement — sourcing across primary and secondary markets and managing the budget end to end
- Collection management — cataloguing, insurance schedules, condition tracking, and relocation
- Installation and logistics — framing, fabrication, and coordination with facilities and construction teams
- Deaccessioning and rationalization — to refine corporate collections and place works that no longer fit
- Market context for asset planning — how blue-chip works have behaved in the market, prepared for your advisors
- Tax documentation support — records for charitable placement and business use, prepared for your advisors
- Collateral and lending introductions — referrals to art-secured lenders where a client wishes to borrow against a holding
For Advisors and Fiduciaries
We Work Alongside Your Practice
Trust and estate attorneys, family offices, private banks, and wealth advisors bring us in when their clients face decisions about art: what to buy, when to sell, and how to build a collection that holds its meaning and its value over time. As a secondary-market dealership first, we work from inside the market. We know which works are quietly available, what they should cost, and who the right buyer or seller is. We take care of the art so you can advise on everything else — documented, conflict-free, and defensible.
- Estate disposition — orderly sale of inherited collections, privately or at auction, with full reporting to counsel and executors
- Collection review — condition, provenance, authenticity, and concentration risk across an existing holding
- Acquisition due diligence — independent assessment before a client commits capital
- Auction and consignment strategy — house selection, timing, reserve, and terms negotiated on the seller’s behalf
- Appraiser referral — introductions to qualified independent appraisers where a formal appraisal is required
Selling a Work.
We provide strategic guidance for collectors and estates looking to sell significant works. Our private sales network ensures maximum discretion and price protection outside the public auction rooms.
Learn About Selling
The Rosenfeld Difference
Since 1970, Rosenfeld Gallery has operated as a secondary-market house in the truest sense, handling works by masters from Pablo Picasso and Andy Warhol through Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Yayoi Kusama, and Takashi Murakami.
The practice stays aligned with its clients. It is engaged for judgment, not to move inventory that does not fit, and when it does own a work that genuinely suits a client, it says so plainly. Discretion is the default. Private sales protect a client's privacy and position, and nothing done on a client's behalf is announced.
The gallery builds for the long term. It buys and sells with an eye toward the future, and the works it places often return years later, as tastes and needs change.
