Banksy is England-based street artist, political activist, and film director, active since 1990s. His political statements and disruptive vision have appeared on streets, walls, and bridges all over the world and often reflect political and social commentary through his distinctive graffiti stenciling technique, provoking alternative viewpoints and encouraging revolution.
Human conditions like greed, poverty, hypocrisy, boredom, despair, absurdity and alienation are common themes recurring in his works. While describing his political view, Banksy says: "Sometimes I feel so sick at the state of the world, I can't even finish my second apple pie."
In 2010 Time magazine selected Banksy for its list of the world’s 100 most influential people.
Banksy's name and identity remain unconfirmed, as he carefully maintains his anonymity.
